River Shots

I went down to the river as promised, but it was quite overcast so I just took a few shots of a US Coast Guard boat going by. The American locks just opened up today for the start of the 2005 shipping season. The ice breakers were busy earlier in the week opening up the river.

I used the electronic view finder to take these as it was one of those overcast but still bright on the eyes kind of days. It works well. I set the camera to landscape for a few photos to experiment, but when I wasn’t, the zoom and auto-focus worked so well from way across the river.
