Turkey and Hell on Wheels

We cooked a 20lb turkey yesterday. I think we’ll have turkey leftovers for months!

We also had cranberries (I boil up the cranberries with some water – no sugar.  Jeff won’t touch ’em, but I love them!), carrots, potatoes, gravy, dressing, apple pie, and blueberry wine from Newfoundland!

AND DID YOU SEE THE HELL ON WHEELS SEASON FINALE LAST NIGHT????

OH MY, that is a good show. I’ve been whining all season that its one flaw is that the show seemed too scared to kill off any of the main characters.

If you haven’t watched it, find the first 2 seasons of Hell on Wheels. It is really well done.

I think I love this show so much because I’ve always loved reading about the history of rail as it was built to the west.  This show is filmed in Alberta, but the storyline is American. The countryside is beautiful.  On last night’s season finale, they finally built a big trestle over a valley and then drove the old steam engine across it.  Great scenery – love it in HD!
