No time to blog!

No time to blog!

It’s December, which means there are endless things to do!

Parties, Christmas Open Houses, trivia, get-togethers, speaking events, and more!

Here are some of the treats from the Museum Christmas Open House we had:

Every year I get together with a couple friends and we drive around town trying to find the 12 Days of Christmas light displays. As always, there was one that was impossible to find, so we had even more time cruising around. It was also late night shopping at the Dancing Moose so we did that too!

And went the RCMP Christmas Open House. Andrea, your desserts were divine!!

We decorated our house for Christmas and Jeff got the outdoor lights up.

I had a birthday. 49! Wow! Jeff and I tried to go out for pizza, but pizza place had frozen pipes or some sort of plumbing issue, so they were take-out only.

Last night I got together with a couple of girlfriends to watch a Christmas movie and they also helped celebrate my birthday!

Then there was that rutabaga.

The days are dark, with sunrise after noon, and sunset after 4pm.

Luckily we’re all too busy to notice how dim it is.

We’ve done well at trivia. Our team has won the last two trivia nights at the Eldo. Woo hoo!

Oh and there was a speaking event at Bonton, put on by the Klondike Development Organization, with 4 people getting a chance to each tell us about their passion for their work and the community. It was a really great evening and I got to meet a few new people.

And for some reason I’ve signed up for way too many challenges on my Garmin watch, so I’m going to be walking for the rest of the month I think. I’m way behind and need to catch up! I don’t think I’m going to make that 15-hour one unless it warms up considerably, but we’ll see. I should be able to get a couple more hours of strength workouts in to finish that challenge, as soon as I can lift my arms again after that last workout.

I managed to get an hour walk in over my lunch time today, despite it being -31C!

There are so many other events that we’ve just been too busy to attend, musical ones, curling, hockey, the Christmas boat parade, the community feast, and art ones too! It would be impossible to participate in everything! How lucky are we!?

I hope your December is equally as busy, full of festive food, peaceful walks, friends, family, and maybe a rutabaga. No maybe not a rutabaga. I just posed with that one so my niece Selinah could see what a rutabaga even looks like. Who would eat such a thing.
