We are sleeping in a rest area on the Coquihalla Highway tonight with some transport trucks, another RV, and an SUV.

It is so hot down here in BC! We saw 35C while driving through Kelowna!

But it is cool and breezy up here in the hills and it smells like pine trees. Perfect for sleeping. And all the trucks stopped idling. Bonus!

We had a wonderful day at Linda and Geoff’s. It was our warmest night in the camper, but not bad. Didn’t need the fan or air conditioner. There was a hungry mosquito I trapped under the blankets with me though.

This morning Linda made homemade waffles and bacon! And then Mikey and his family came to visit for lunch and the afternoon. How nice to meet his lovely wife and their two kids, both who were born while we worked together.

We headed out to get a few hours on the road to make tomorrow easier. We have a ferry booked for the afternoon to Vancouver Island.

Hank is healing up and did great with Linda’s dogs. We realized we’ve never had him in anyone else’s house. He explored all over and wore himself out nicely. His leg is behaving much better today. I am very relieved.

Thanks so much for your hospitality Linda and Geoff! Thanks for bringing your family to visit with you Mikey! A perfect day! And you thought we’d never see each other again. Ha!! Hope to see all of you in Dawson some day!!
