The red polls are back for the season and are finally eating the bird seed we’ve provided!
The sun shone on our house today! For the first time since November. It was glorious!

Jeff got the camper shovelled off last weekend, before he went down to Whitehorse for work for the week.

The Yukon Quest, at least in the Yukon, is done. For now? For ever? Time will tell. But there will be no race here this winter:

No Yukon Quest sled dog race this year, say former board members | CBC News
Mushers and former board members say the Yukon Quest is cancelled this year, because there is no one left to organize the iconic sled dog race.

The CBC has decided to staff an actual bureau here in Dawson City! Expect to hear far more about the happenings of our community, because you know there is always something happening!
Hank and I survived a week alone with each other. We did daytime walks while this killer dog is still on the loose. (Well, it likely isn’t loose, and the police know exactly where it is, and I don’t know if our legislation ties their hands or what, but nothing has seemingly happened yet, to keep us safe.)

And that about sums it up. Jeff got us lunch from La Hockeria (the arena concession – the winter form of La Taqueria). I had a chicken finger burger and Jeff had a cheese burger and we split some fries. This is one place in town with no shrimp on their menu, so I can have food out of their fryer!
Now I’m watching a gal turn an abandoned old general store into a home on YouTube, Jeff’s napping in his recliner, and I just built a new block plugin for my blog (to display that CBC link up above) with AI (WordPress.com’s Telex block builder). Hank’s napping on our bed. (Get off my pillow you rascal!)
It’s -28°C. The forecast has been calling for warmer temps for a couple of days, but the temperature just hasn’t risen yet.
Hope you’re having a great weekend!
