Lisa’s Favourite Things

Wanna be more like me? Can’t blame ya. I use and recommend these products!

Personal Things

  • Dr. Tung’s Smart Floss – This floss is a game changer! Worth every penny. It removes so much more plaque than normal floss! And tastes like cardamon. Mmmmmm. Absolute game changer. It makes my teeth feel so good, I actually floss more often! hat tip to my friend Alex for the recommendation!

Winter Gear

  • SKOOKUMbrand winter parka – I wear and recommend the Ivvavik Anorak (pull over) in Fireweed Pink with a coyote ruff.
  • Outdoor Research Alti II mittens – I wear a black, men’s, in medium. They have a mitten inside (not glove!) and pull up over your coat’s wrist. Warmest mittens I’ve had. With lots of room for a disposable warmer too for even extra warmth.
  • Neoprene half face mask – I’ve used these for years. They keep the frostbite off your face! Pair with a fleece neck gaitor and a toque with ear flaps and you’re golden!
  • Steger Mukluks – warmest boots for dry snow conditions like we have here! We wear the Arctic ones.
  • Fleece neck gaiter – I’ve got this one, and a royal blue one from SAIL.ca. This is a key part of my winter gear – keeps my neck and chin warm, and can easily pull up to cover my mouth and cheeks when needed.
  • Keen Revel 4 High Polar Hiking boots – These hikers have become my favourite winter hiking and walking boot. Warm, wide toe box, easy tie, comfortable.

Hiking Gear

  • Altra Olympus hiking shoes – These are absolutely the BEST shoes to walk and hike in. Even just for standing! They have incredible padding under your foot, and dry super fast.
  • Darn Tough socks – particularly the midweight socks! Pricey, but guaranteed for LIFE! I’ve yet to have a pair wear out!

Travel Accessories

  • Electrolytes! I like Nuun tablets. I drink at least a litre of water the first night in a hotel room after flying, with Nuun electrolytes in my water. They help you stay feeling good, avoid dehydration, and avoid headaches. They are so easy to pack in your carry-on too for layovers.
  • North Face Router backpack – This is my latest travel backpack and I love it! It’s huge, 40L! Tons of pockets, great sleeves for water bottles, padding, beautiful nice handle on the top. Laptop sleeve.
  • Anker Prime Wall Plug – I love this Anker plug to charge a bunch of things when I’m travelling and find a plug. It has 2 USB-C ports, plus the old school larger USB port. I plug in my battery pack to top it off, while also charging my watch and phone.
