Jeff, the love of my life, and my very best friend, got down on one knee on Thursday June 14th and asked me to be his wife!!!!

Since then it’s been a whirlwind of excitement with us driving to visit our immediate families to tell them all in person. Now they they all know I can expand the circle and tell everyone! I still have SOOOO many phone calls to make. Blogs, internet posts, and emails are just so much quicker! (especially since our cordless phone already died today and is back on the base until tomorrow for a recharge).

Wedding plans are now in the works. It is amazing how fast people switch their tone from “Congrats!” to “Now when and where!?!” We had started thinking we could just have a small wedding with only our parents, Grandmas and siblings, but I quickly realized that I just can not get married without having all my aunts and uncles and cousins there. Jeff’s family is just as large as mine so we’re already well into the triple digits. We are thinking around Christmas. Now we’re working on a way to simplify the entire idea of a big wedding into an affordable package since we’re also buying a house and furnishing it in the next few months! We are toying with the idea of having a daytime wedding with a lunch rather than a big catered dinner. I am hoping we can have a simple, easily planned, stress free wedding without a whole lot of picky little details. Just a nice simple day where I can marry the best man in the world (Jeff ;D) and have our family and friends there to share the moment with. Not to forget that we’ll also be planning this wedding from half way across the country.

I’m still working on getting used to this rock on my finger (I still take it off to sleep and put it back in it’s beautiful wooden box). It is the most gorgeous ring I’ve ever seen. I had no idea diamonds were so sparkley! I’m also working on getting used to calling Jeff my fiance rather than just my boyfriend. ;D I’m also working on getting used to these longer nails Jeff is encouraging me to grow to show off my hand and ring, but I’m seriously annoyed at typing with nails :no:
