Hank had a restless night. Was the dinette (converted into a bed) too hard? Was it skipping a walk today? Dunno.
But his leg is a bit better. It looks a bit stiff at times and a bit limpy but not like it is moving completely wrong like yesterday.
Today we drove through Kamloops and Vernon to get to the Lumby area.
It is HOT here ( hot for us anyway). Around 30C.
All the fields have water sprinklers on, even on corn. Everything that isn’t getting watered is dry, dead, or desert like.
And I don’t know if maybe there aren’t many backroads but the main highways were very congested (and curvy and hilly). We hold up traffic nicely at our vacation pace but there were enough passing lanes that everyone could get around us.
Linda is a coworker of mine. I can’t believe I’m actually at her place and get to see her beautiful off grid home! They’ve built an amazing log home here and have horses and dogs. Beautiful!

We’ve sat around talking for hours. We even had a fire and cooked smokies over the fire on these really neat telescoping roasting sticks that turn for even roasting!

Hank has been good. We are keeping him on a leash though. He is interested in the horses for sure. And the cat told him immediately that they were not going to be friends.
I picked up a peach pie outside of Kamloops. It isn’t as good as the Shakespeare Pies, Dad, but it was good! They add orange so it tasted a bit like marmalade but you can’t go wrong with pie, right?

Tomorrow another long time coworker, Mikey, is coming for lunch!! He’s recently moved on to work elsewhere and he said that he’d likely never see me again. It’s awesome to prove him wrong!
Then we’ll be off to move towards Vancouver. We have a ferry crossing to Vancouver Island booked for Sunday afternoon.
Tonight we will camp in Linda’s driveway. We’ve been offered a room inside but I think we’ve grown attached to this camper lifestyle now. Although I’m thinking I’ll accept the shower offer tomorrow!
