This morning we got up to a beautiful blue sky. I waited until after 8am to find the comfort station and a free shower. No line! I guessed the best time perfectly!
Jeff went after me and then we packed up. A truck camper makes things really easy. There isn’t much to do. Make sure nothing is left on the counter, the windows are all closed, the wet towels hung, and the bathroom door latched shut.
When I went to load Hank up in the back seat, I took him off his tie out, and the little bugger ducked to run. I grabbed him by a handful of skin on the side of his back. He didn’t like that and got away.
This is always my most panic filled moment. He is a husky. He just wants to RUN. I yelled for Jeff, I shrieked at Hank, and he was gone.
He ran up the road a bit, I grabbed the leash from the picnic table. Then he ran for the trail and I was so sure we’d never see him again.
Jeff got him to come back though, and with a grin and a bit of a limp, he went back into the truck.
Whew. Thank goodness. You rascal.
For our first stop of the day, I Googled and found a dog park in Quesnel so we took him there to run it out. No one was there! We got the ball chuck-it and let outself in the gate.

We were both looking at other things and when we looked at Hank again, half way out in the park, his right back leg wasn’t working right.
Is it his knee? His hip? It’s not even really a limp. It’s just altogether wrong.
He doesn’t seem like he is in pain though. So we called off the park adventure and went back into the truck.
Did I do something to hurt his leg when I grabbed the skin on his back?
Did he do something on his free run about? He did have that slight limp I noticed after he was loose. He’s as hardy as they come so a limp isn’t normal. I mean he hiked 6 or 7 km yesterday. That’s just normal for him.

So I’ve spent all day fretting about it. Worrying about all the possible scenarios. We haven’t taken him for a walk yet tonight, but he’s going to want one.
We have him tied up and he’s wandering around and lying on it. Yet it moves kinda wrong?
Any way. We are at Paul Lake Provincial Park. It’s north east of Kamloops. Quite nice! No cell service again for course. So this will have to get posted tomorrow.
After picking our site (43), I walked back to the gate to drop our $18 in the drop box.

As we settled in, Jeff heard something in the bushes behind our site. A bear?
No! It was a mule deer! Eating the fresh tree leaves. Hank was really curious!

So cute!
Hank was restless though so we put him in the camper to rest more and we played three games of Yahtzee.

Sigh. I hope the rascal is better tomorrow.
