Yes, okay!? We are sleeping in a rest area again, on the side of a road!
My Dad is also out here on Vancouver Island touring around for a summer vacation! He arrived yesterday and met us north of the ferry terminal at a rest area, so we are all sleeping in our vehicles here tonight!

(Why are we all blurry? I dunno. I blame the sea.)
It’s hot here too! But there is a cool breeze now that the sun has set. That’ll help our sleep!

We sat around for a couple of hours sharing our vacation adventures so far. Dad left Ontario the same day we left the Yukon.

He went to the Calgary Stampede on his way out here, and has the hat to prove it!

We had a long day, waiting around in hot parking lots until our ferry reservation. Our camper shifted again so we spent 90 minutes getting it reseated again, after Jeff screwed together more of the layers of plywood and cribbing it sits on. When we get home, he plans to build a better frame inside his truck bed to prevent this trouble.

I don’t recommend reseating your truck camper in a mall parking lot. By the time we finally had it back on, and straight, some urban car show was happening around us and we almost didn’t get out of there!
Then we had to wait in line for the ferry. Also hot.

The two hour sail was HOT and windy! My hair is greasy straw now (who knew that was a thing).

Hank did decent though and was patient somehow, even with so many hours in the truck. His leg is getting better! Whew!

I was glad I brought a jacket on deck. Not for the cold (it wasn’t) but to block the baking sun rays!

Overall, decent ferry excursion.
We watched the tide come in tonight from our rest area with Dad. Pretty nice!

Tomorrow we are heading up to Port Hardy for the first time to visit a friend. I think Dad is heading in the other direction so this may be our only encounter!
Remember when I said earlier that if you go camping, anywhere, Dad will show up! See? Just give him the coordinates! Although this time he picked the coordinates!
Good night!
