We tested out a rest area for our home base tonight but it was mid afternoon and warm so we pushed on, hoping to get a campground site instead.
And we did! We are in the Teslin Lake campground. We tried this one on the way south and it was already full.

We got here in time today for a spot, although not early enough to be on the lake. That’s okay though because like every other great Yukon territorial park, the fire wood is included! No fire ban! Let’s burn baby!

Jeff chopped up some kindling and I had the pleasure of lighting it up.

Let’s cook on it!

Jeff had some chicken thighs in the freezer so he thawed and cooked them on the grill!

Then told me not to take a picture of him burning his fingers off with the short tongs!

The chicken was absolutely perfectly grilled. With a Greek pasta salad on the side. Perfect!

Otherwise today was a mostly driving day. We just loved that spot last night and this morning everyone was super quiet. Even the motorbikes didn’t fire up until after 8am so we slept in again.
We had a nice lunch at the French Creek rest area again before we finished our Stewart-Cassiar Highway adventures.

It is a beautiful spot on the Dease River. I even saw a couple fish in the river.
And now we get to sit by this fire pit and enjoy the evening. Nothing could be better!

Good night!
