Introducing my childhood neighbour, friend, fellow girl guide, school bus rider, and 4H’er!

Last year Cathy and I were chatting, and she was talking about how she hasn’t seen much of the country and she was about ready to offer money to a long haul truck driver to tag along.

And I said, “Uhhh I may be driving from the Yukon to Ontario next year on my sabbatical, want my passenger seat?”

And that’s all it took to plant the seed!

We picked Cathy up at the airport in Whitehorse and brought her back to Dawson for a few days to show her the sights.

Our plans include:

• Going as feral as possible
• Taking 4 weeks to get to southern Ontario (although that includes a week I’m chewing up in the Yukon and Alaska because I need to show her things!!)
• Sleeping in a tent like the young, healthy, mobile, flexible, fit girl guides that we still are in our souls.
• Winging it
