I’m on my way back to the Yukon!
Today was a beautiful sunny, warm day for a drive! I left my Aunt Cecilia’s after 6am in the dark, aiming to get north of Toronto before rush hour.
Before the sunrise, I saw the lovely skyline of Toronto silhouetted in the orange sky. Beautiful!
Then I drove through some fog patches on the way up to Barrie. By Blind River it was 26 degrees Celsius!

I’ve landed on the shores of Lake Superior at Pancake Bay Provincial Park this afternoon.
Without a reservation, I had several sites to choose from, yet the park still seems plenty busy.

I put my bathing suit on and went for a swim in Lake Superior. Wonderful! Refreshing! Not even all that cold.
My site isn’t that private, and the outhouse down a trail from my site is closed, grr, but the comfort station isn’t that far. I put up our little lightweight camping tent and did a bit more truck reorganization before making a delicious ham and turkey sandwich on a fresh cheese bun from Pino’s grocery store in the Sault.

The last couple weeks raced by. Like always, I didn’t see half the people I hoped to, but will treasure all the quality visits that I did squeeze in.
Here are some highlights from the last few days:
Having lunch at the Atwood cafe with Uncle Paul, Aunt Maria, Cathy, my Mom, and an old neighbour Cecil. Paul invited us to dine with him and tell him all our travel stories before the trip even started!

Had a Swiss Chalet lunch with Jeff’s mom!

Visited my Uncle Joe for an afternoon.

Met this fascinating creature at the petting zoo in Mitchell. Do you know what it is?

Met my other Uncle Joe and Aunt Patricia in Mitchell for lunch with Mom.

They make huge fresh sandwiches. I had the Turkey Lurky!

Spent plenty of time with my youngest niece and nephew and babysat a couple times!

Visited with Dad again and I got to see his latest book of all his summer vacation pictures from his trip west and back.

Did my best to teach the little ones to hug trees.

Got to celebrate my brother in law Wole’s birthday!

Played soccer a few times.

But then I had to move along and say my goodbyes.

I went to Aunt Cecilia’s for a night but was so comfy there I spent two! We did a 6km hike and bird watched and my cousin Wes came to visit for a bit!

So many other people to see and not enough time. Please don’t take it personally if our paths didn’t cross this time. I’ll be back again before you know it!
I don’t want to rush home so now that I’m back on the road, I have almost 3 full weeks to get there. I don’t have my route planned yet but it will fall into place soon!
Good night!
