On Friday night, Jeff and I went out for a special dinner at Bonton.

We had fancy drinks and fancy foods!

Of the four dishes we had, the Chicken Molotes was my favourite. Jeff’s still deciding on his favourite because he said they all were good! And the coconut cake was heavenly!

We had our house contractor Steve here last week, with his helper Gia, and they did all sorts of outdoor repairs for our house, including adding additional ventilation for the crawl space, fix the large gap between the skirting and the house caused when the house was levelled last year, replace some rotten skirting boards, replace the supports under the steps of the front steps, and fix the soft spot on the historical old front deck.

They did a phenomenal job! The covered front porch has a Douglas fir deck. They used some oak flooring to replace the soft spot and fit it in perfectly, sanding it all down so after I paint it, no one will ever know it was repaired (except you).

Fall is progressing quickly here in Dawson City. Leaves are falling. We had a frost overnight (possibly not the first). Here are some random photos from the last week:

The Grumpy Schnitzel is back for a couple of months, in a food truck this time! We’ve been twice already to support Christian and eat his huge portions of food.

While I was tidying up my office this weekend, I found a piece of paper I had saved from the autograph book I had when I was a kid. I had my Grandparents sign it and I saved it. They wrote, “Friends are as we remember them”.
