Up at 6:30. Breakfast at 8:00. Took tent down and packed up. Then left. We just crossed Thousand Is. Bridge. We’re in the United States of America!!!

12:15 – Tupper Lake. We’re eating at McDonalds for lunch. Now we’re driving through Lake Placid where 2 winter Olympics were held. Lots of tourists. We’re going up Whiteface Mt. There’s a parking lot where you park your car then you can take an elevator higher or walk up the steps. We took the slow elevator up and the STEEP, SLIPPERY, ROCKY steps down. WINDY – COOL

5:20 – We’re taking a ferry (1 hr) and leaving New York and going to Vermont. We’ve been looking for a place to stay for 2 hours now. All full. Except this one. Old, dirty, SMALL room. It’ll do. It will have to do. Good-night!
