Jeff gets really antsy staying home on vacation in the winter with nothing to do so we took a trip into town.

It was a white-knuckle adventure down to the road. There was a layer of ice on the driveway before all the snow fell and it is still really slippery with snow on it (another inch fell this morning). Jeff put it in 4Low and hugged the right tires in the snow bank. He went nice and slow and I think it took 5 minutes to get down to the road, but we did it nice and slow and we didn’t land in the lake. Whewwww.

In town we learned that the snow removal here is incredibly poor. It almost seemed like they just moved as little as possible and are hoping it melts and goes away…. which is likely when it hits +5C on Wednesday and rains.

We noticed that there was a roof that collapsed!! At Central (our small Atlantic Canada version of Home Depot) they have 3 adjoined greenhouses where they keep the gardening supplies and other outdoor things. It is open year round and they have a display of their wood and pellet stoves in there. Well it looks like they didn’t bargain for the weight of the heavy snow that fell on Jan. 1st. Take a look:
