We started our bedroom renovations this morning by sanding off the glue that was left from the wallpaper border.

Sanding didn’t work at all, so we tried soaking it with the solution again and then we scrubbed with rough dish scrub pads. Worked! Hard work though!

Next up was the uneven floor where the two houses join. Jeff tried with his random orbit sander. In seconds the entire room was a cloud of white powder.

I ran off to get some face masks from the basement. Judging by the caked white plaster-like substance that was soon formed in my nostrils, the cheap masks don’t work worth a damn.

I have no idea what it was that Jeff was sanding off that join crack. I think something plaster-like. Whatever it is/was my lungs do not like it.

Jeff upgraded his face mask to his almost gas mask like apparatus and he sanded for hours. Which led to hours of vacuuming and washing every surface in the room. Jeff lasted longer than me because my lungs were screaming at me.

Until a couple moments ago it also appeared that I was going to work naked tomorrow. Remember our laundry machines were broken? Then they fixed themselves before the repair man looked at them. He found nothing wrong but left the case open for a week in case it happened again. It didn’t so we paid up for the service call. But guess what? They didn’t work all weekend. The washing machine was locked shut with all of my darks in it. All our clothes in the closet got covered in white dust. Luckily, I think the washer is working again. I think I know what the problem is. The humidity was too high in the house and all the computer circuit boards in that washing machine didn’t like it. It was really sticky and humid last time it was broken too. Guessing that might be what was going on, we closed all the windows and turned the Venmar air exchanger on. Bingo! So hopefully I will have clean clothes tomorrow.

We are both so sore from our renovations. Jeff probably more than me, but he has been doing more than me.

Join in the floor still isn’t completely flat. Is it close enough? Is there trying else we can do? I think we’ll sleep on it. And no, I don’t mean that literally.
