Jeff is at the grocery store and just sent me a note saying “Guess what is for supper!?!” and this photo is attached. (click on photo for larger version)
Yes, those are fresh eels in the foreground.
I offered to sleep at work.
He said he’s wearing them like a necklace.
I said, I’m so blogging this.
He said he is really thinking about trying them.
I said, Wait until I am not home because I will FREAK OUT.
To which he responded, So green salad with that?
And I answered, Whatever you want, but I’m not touching them, smelling them, or looking at them.
The End (Or else)

Lisa you grandparents talked about eating them.
In fact they liked them.
Never had them myself but I’m up for them if Jeff is doing them the next time I’m in town.

I *love* eel, but it has to be fresh. The one time that it was just incredible, they guy pulled it out of a fish tank and grilled it up right then: about 2 seconds from fish tank to grill.
I did find a recipe:

EEEEEEK! I wouldn’t eat them and look at the fish beside the eels………..evil little faces!
Jeff
I’ve had them before but they were smoked. Very good. John I’ll make them for your next visit. There are likely some other things that Lisa will not let in the house that you can try then too.
