It was a surprising -15 when I got up this morning with a -25 windchill. That is crisp for this Atlantic province!
There was a big bird party going on at our feeders.
Jeff got me the new globe bird feeder for Christmas. It lets smaller birds feast on the sunflower seeds but keeps the bigger piggy birds and squirrels away from gobbling all the seed.
The first visitor was a chickadee and he figured out how to jump inside in less than a minute. The gold finches were next and now there are usually a few little birds in it.
The nut hatch prefers to hunt for nuts in the mixed seed feeder.
The red squirrel wanted in on the fun too. I’ve been watching them eat the buds off our discarded balsam fir Christmas tree.
