Yesterday we drove up to the Cape George Lighthouse and ate lunch while watching the ice chunks out in the water (no wonder the ferry to PEI hasn’t been able to kick off their season yet!)
I didn’t bring the good camera, but here are a few iPhone pictures:
Not too much ice between this point and Cape Breton, but much more in the Antigonish harbour, and over towards PEI it looks like it is stuffed full of ice still.

It was really calm (it is often ridiculously windy up here!) and overcast.

Look how far down it is. See the fully grown conifers down by the edge of the water? They are dark green.
Later in the afternoon we went for another long walk along the gravel side of Lochiel Lake. The ice is shifting around a bit on the lake, but there is less on that lake every day.
So still! It is really a rare day here that the wind is blowing.
See the loon out in the next picture?
Monty went for his first little swim, followed by chasing a crow and ending up caught on a steep bank with his leg hanging on a stump. Jeff had to climb down the embankment to save him. Luckily he wasn’t even hurt! Resilient!
We had great walks on Friday and Saturday. You can tell which days it was raining and miserable last week 😉
I have a goal of walking all the way around Lake Lochiel sometime this year. It is 12.5 km, and a great goal to work towards!
