My grandiose ideas of all the things I could fit in my truck ….. I was delusional!

We are stuffed! Everything has its place. And I’m so glad Jeff got me a mesh net for the ceiling! That’s means two storeys of stuff!

We headed out, across the ferry to West Dawson this morning.

One last look. Good bye for now Dawson! And Jeff and Hank 😭
The views were good along the Top of the World highway. Before long we were at the border. The crossing was painless and we were in Alaska!

We headed for Chicken!

We did the customary souvenir shopping and had lunch in the cafe. I had a reindeer bratwurst and Cathy had a juicy cheese burger. Both with home fries.

So many chickens in Chicken…

And now we are in Tok, Alaska. It was raining by the time we got here. Booooo!
We put up the tent in the rain.

We are soaked! Oh well. Also. Comical I was worried about my broken truck air conditioner. It’s cold. And raining. But we wanted an adventure?
Speaking of, we just went to the campground’s nightly pancake toss! If you can get it in the bucket, you win $10 off breakfast!

I got right in front of the bucket! Shoot!
Cathy didn’t have any better luck.
But it was nice to meet some other campers. Including a family of five from Anchorage who have been coming here for 3 years. And a guy on a motorbike who is taking 5 years to do the outside of the entire continent! With his dog in a sidecar!
There is still no rain in the forecast or on the radar but it has been raining on and off for hours now.
So we might as well crawl into bed. Good night!!
