That was my worst sleep yet – last night in the abandoned baseball diamond in the ghost town.
I probably shouldn’t have had a pop before bed. I had to keep peeing. And it was cold so we were all bundled up. And then I was too warm and afraid to move to cause my layers to slide off (I’m under two blankets. I probably should have brought an actual sleeping bag.)
And then the coyote party woke me up. I heard them pass by 4 times. SO LOUD! Yipping and screaming and hollering.
I didn’t feel scared, or so I thought, but I later dreamt a coyote bit the back of my ankle, so I don’t know.
It sounded like they kept coming back to the fence row near us so there was likely a den nearby. Cool.
It was a still and quiet farm night though, otherwise. Allowing me to hear a distant train, donkey, whatever bird made noise all night in the trees behind the tent (common nighthawk I think), smell a skunky smell, and look at the stars and moon when I got up to pee a few times.
But enough about last night.
Today we drove 4 hrs north to see the World’s Largest Perogy!

It seems like this little fading away town of Glendon attempted to keep itself on the map with this monstrosity.

We heard tales of awesome perogy souvenirs.
Yet there were none to be found.

I’m guessing the official perogy committee has disbanded.
We didn’t even eat any perogies!

For a place with the world’s largest perogy, you’d think they’d hear about online T-shirt printing and get some new ones made!
Their stores are old and just barely hanging on. Rejuvenate the place with some new souvenirs! we would have bought plenty!

And move the perogy away from the fence and place it in the middle of the park for more photo opportunities. We had to get around so many gates and fences and walk through plants to even get to the thing!

But we got gas and a bit of groceries so we spent some money in the town so I hope that helped!
But then we found ourselves way back up north with no plan of what is next.
So we got a site for the night in the nearby Moose Lake campground.
We set up the tent, mid afternoon. And it promptly started to rain. Again!!!
So we napped a bit. Or at least I did. And now it is finally stopping as the sun sets. Guess we are skipping making supper again and just going to bed. It’s 11C and so cold and damp.
But we plotted out the rest of our route to Ontario and figured out where we are sleeping tomorrow.

Hopefully we can eventually shake off this rain!?
Good night!
