I’m already in British Columbia!

I have this new habit of getting up at 5am. I tried to drag my feet today but I showered, had my free hotel breakfast, made a tea, and checked out by 7am. The sun wasn’t even up yet!

I filled up with gas and headed out of the city. There was a lot of morning traffic trying to slow me down, but I was able to get out of town without too many slow downs.

The thing about departing as the sun rises… it is fortunate to be heading west because the sunrise was BLINDING in my mirrors this morning. Well most mornings.

It was supposed to be sunny today. So it rained. At this point I’m just used to setting the cruise at 110 and going.

The cold weather is coming so I guess I’m just going home. But I’m only driving so far each day. No heroics. Nothing stupid. Just a reasonable effort.

Hi again Mr Beaver. I ate some left over pizza while standing in this parking lot.

Even the tourist info stop in Dawson Creek was closed. For the season? Which means no bathrooms too. 😡

I ended up in Fort St John after 2pm. However one of those hours I lived twice when I crossed the time zone. That’s enough driving for today.

I reserved the same hotel Cathy and I stayed in last month. Then I did a bit of shopping at Winners and went to the movie theatre! Half priced Tuesday! I watched the final Downton Abbey movie. It was beautiful. I needed a tissue at the end to wipe my right eye.

Then I went to check in and had to be super strategic for a parking spot. The hotel restaurant was busy and everyone must drive a pickup truck. Every hotel parking spot was full. So I hovered and pounced and beat several others to a spot 😊

The sunset was nice tonight. Right over that growing homeless camp across the street?

Tomorrow I’ll have a similar lengthed drive in mind, minus the cruise control because the roads from here on out are no longer straight and flat. I will probably camp tomorrow night, even with the +2C forecast for tomorrow night.
