It’s a cold, breezy, rainy week in Dawson City, but none of that matters when it is Canada Day! Time to celebrate our great country and its people!
I put on my Atwood Canada Day t-shirt that Cathy H. sent me from back home a few years back. Atwood always does Canada Day big!

I did a bit of shopping on our Front Street since I have the day off and the shops were open. Then I came back to meet Jeff to watch the parade!

We stood at the corner of 5th and Church to catch the parade.

Here’s our local RCMP officers:

And our mayor:

And half the town on bikes!

And Gertie and the girls!

Here’s our friend Harley:

And Tina and Kevin:

I didn’t get a picture of Tim’s cab bus from 1929 because next thing I knew there were full sized Caramilk bars coming at my face!
Here’s one of the buses from the Westmark / Princess cruise lines:

And our pet store owner:

And Parks Canada:

And our growing Filipino population:

The Legion and Yukon Energy:

And our two ambulances:

Then a bunch of fire trucks, including the historical Bear Creek tanker.

And the new fire truck!

Our friends Cass, Keenan, and little Dahlia.

After the parade, everyone gathered in Minto park for speeches, music, free hot dogs and cupcakes, and dozens of activities for kids, like the slip and slide and face painting.

Here’s the cab Tim’s restoring.

The museum was making ice worm cocktails again!

In Dawson, we do the slip and slide with water from the fire truck! Who enjoys a slip and slide at 14C ? Dawson kids I guess?

And now it’s POURING rain.
I wish you all a Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦
