We slept in only a bit and decided to take it somewhat easy today. I started driving along the waterfront and noticed there was a Saturday farmer’s market!

I bought a couple rice krispie squares for snacks today and Cecilia found an oatmeal date cookie.

Another breathtaking day!

We stopped at some roadside stops along the way.

Cecilia knew of a waterfall near Sudbury from a waterfalls of Ontario book she got from Wesley and was eager for us to find it.
I was feeling totally spent. My eyes were still tired. I had a Diet Coke before noon to try to spike up some energy. Nope. Didn’t work. Is it time to take up coffee? Energy drinks? Maybe a stop at the falls would perk me up and we could make it to at least Huntsville tonight?

We found the falls! Onaping Falls.
And a hike! Okay, that’ll work! Let’s get some exercise and fresh air.

The hike was wacky though. We hiked along the highway for a bit and then walked up a steep sandy gravel hill. Was this really the trail?

No, it wasn’t the trail.
But we found the real trail and it was 10x worse. Steep up and down. Rock scrambles. Slippery sections. Loose gravel. Stairs. Tons of people.

What are we doing on this trail? I don’t feel sufficiently warned!

It’s pretty though!

Drama queen.

A.Y. Jackson, of the Group of Seven, painted these falls in 1953.

Ha, we had walked right by the real trail head when we set off. But maybe that was good. Because that trail was extreme! Although all the little kids on it were making it look easy (for them).

All in all, it was good exercise. A couple km’s of rough hiking and steep climbing.
But it did nothing to shake my heavy fatigue. I just keep fighting off the urge to curl up on the ground for a nap.
So I called it, and we booked a hotel in Sudbury. I’ve been driving all day for days and before that, it was weeks of non-stop stress and work and packing and home repairs. I’m just spent.
We got our room just before 5pm and I napped for 2 hours. Maybe we’ll make it to our destination tomorrow? I still have 3 days before I start my new job so no need to panic just yet!
