We watched the last two of our rentals on Friday night – Freedomland and Munich.

Don’t waste your time watching either of these movies.

Freedomland, a movie with Samuel L. Jackson, Julianne Moore, and Edie Falco. It is about a woman who turns to the cop (Samuel L. Jackson) that her car was just stolen with her son in the backseat. Both Jeff and I agreed that this entire movie felt like you walked in after it was half over. We never felt like we were grasping what was going on. Almost like it was Part 2 and we missed the first one. I give it a 1 out of 5.

Munich is a movie about a revenge plot to take out the people who plotted the kidnapping and killing of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. The good thing about this movie was a bit of a history lesson since I wasn’t alive in 1972 to know the story. Unfortunately it was a 2.5 hour movie with far too many characters to keep straight in your head. As with Freedomland, characters would show up on the screen and Jeff and I would be trying to figure out who they were and were we already introduced to this guy and what was his story again? I was very surprised to see that this was a Steven Spielberg movie. Neither Jeff and I really had any desire to see it to the end, but we did. I am reading through some of the reviews on IMDB and I’m wondering if these people watched the same movie we did. There was nothing engaging about this flick. I give it a 1 out of 5.
