We are staying in Beaumont Provincial Park tonight, near Fort Fraser, on the shores of Fraser Lake, west of Prince George about an hour and a half.
I remember reading something about ants here and it is really something! There are ants walking everywhere!
They are Western Thatch ants, and should only bite when threatened. So we decided not to threaten them? They are walking around in every direction. I only had one on my lap so far (while sitting in my lawn chair). They are the ones that make those huge mound nests in the forest.

Today we didn’t do anything too exciting except drive and stop for a few groceries in Prince George. We found BC grown sweet corn!

When you find yourself without corn cob holders, a fork will do! Two will be luxury!

We also bought BC grown apricots and strawberries!

Don’t get put off by the ants. This park is really nice. Clean. Well maintained. There aren’t showers but they do have a beach!

We walked all around the park this evening. The wind is really whipping off the lake.

There is a hike or two here. We took one path to visit an old cabin but since we didn’t grab bear spray and there are berries everywhere, we held off on walking the whole loop.

Me peaking through the cabin cracks.

Now we are sitting here trying to plot out the next few days. Do we go visit Kitimat? Or Prince Rupert? We don’t have time for both without leaving some long driving days ahead and we don’t want to do that. If you have an opinion, please weigh in pronto! Just leave a comment below. Or, you’re probably related to me, just text us!

Good night!
