We aren’t camping on this road trip adventure. It’s just a little too late in the season. That would have been more gear to pack too, and it’s cold and frosty overnight!
Cecilia was up a bunch of times overnight to check for the northern lights and she finally got a glimpse at 5am!
I was too busy sleeping.
This morning was frosty!

I had an 8:30am appointment to put on new tires! They aren’t as sexy as the KO2s that were on it but they’ll do!

They are Nokian Outpost NATs, if you are a tire enthusiast. I needed new tires that will suit winter travel too since I won’t reunite with my snow tires until next year at the earliest.
While they were installing the tires, we went across the street to pick out the flooring for three rooms of our house and a new countertop. We want it looking its finest for whoever the next owner may be!
Then we used Cecilia’s ingenuity to rig up a mount for the Starlink mini in the back side window from items purchased at Dollarama. Works like a charm!
Before we left Whitehorse we went to Miles Canyon for a quick peak. The sun wasn’t shining on the water yet so it wasn’t as pretty as when the water is turquoise.

Then we were off down the Alaskan Highway.
It was another lovely day. Chilly, but we did get up to 13C for a bit.

We stopped at the sign post forest in Watson Lake.

And this time I found my Dad’s sign again!!!

Someone’s gotta bring some white paint to touch it up! Someone really tall!

It’s near here. The back of the sign faces the road.

Our wildlife count was still abysmal at just red squirrels. Until we saw a fox today. Then a black bear. Then another fox. Then the bison herd. And then another black bear!

Tonight we are staying across from the Liard hot springs at a lodge. They have a great kitchen!

I had sliders (one beef, one pulled pork, one chicken) and Cecilia had an elk burger!

We could have went over to the hot springs tonight. They are open until 10:30pm. But I just can’t imagine doing the walk through the bog on that boardwalk in the dark!
We have a double room (two double beds) and it is really nice. But there is no TV! At least there is great wifi!
Good night!
